Why ember care

WHY FAMILIES CHOOSE US

The care of a boutique agency, without the rotating strangers

We sit between the big agencies that send a different face each week and the apps that match you with whoever's free. We employ and train our own caregivers, and keep the team small.

01

A consistent care team

A small, matched team gets to know your loved one — their routines, preferences and story. No revolving door of unfamiliar faces, which matters most of all in dementia care.

03

Companionship and personal care together

From company and help at home to hands-on support with bathing, dressing and mobility — all under one plan, so most families never need a second provider.

02

Real, named dementia training

Nearly everyone claims dementia care. Our caregivers train in recognised programmes — Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) and U-First!® — and we plan activity using DementiAbility (Montessori) methods.

04

A coordinator who owns the plan

Every client has a person-centred care plan, regular check-ins, and someone overseeing quality — not a caregiver left to figure it out alone.

CARE WE PROVIDE

Find the care that fits your family

Every programme is a starting point, not a fixed package. We build a personalised plan by combining the support each person actually needs.

OUR STORY

The story behind Ember Care

Ember Care began with someone I loved.

My cousin was living with ovarian cancer that had gone beyond what medicine could treat. When treatment stopped and she moved into palliative care, she knew exactly where she wanted to be: home. Not a hospice — her own home, among her own things, with the people she loved.

But home came with a painful gap. The consistent, attentive care that would have kept her comfortable and safe there simply wasn't available. That gap — between where she wanted to be cared for and the care she could actually get — has stayed with me. It's the reason Ember Care exists.

Because the wish is almost universal. Whether someone is living with dementia, recovering from surgery, or nearing the end of life, most people want the same thing: to stay home, with dignity, properly cared for. Families want to give them that — but they can't carry it alone, and the public system can't fill all the hours.

Ember Care closes that gap: a small, consistent team of trained, police-checked caregivers, working to a care plan I build personally with every family — starting with the care we've trained hardest for, dementia and memory care.

And the name? An ember is what keeps glowing after the flames die down — still warm, still giving light. (It also owes something to the little glowing-orange ember tetras in my aquarium.) That's the care we give: warmth that stays, even when things are hard.
